Short wire item on page 8 of the Brownsville Herald, 3 July 1928, on a man found dead in a Brooklyn lot, described as the third killing in a series that began with the slaying of Frankie Yale.

Page 8 ("Page Eight") of the Brownsville Herald, 3 July 1928. The item is datelined New York, July 3; no wire credit is legible in the OCR. It reports that the body of an unidentified man, "thought to be a victim of a gang murder, was found in a vacant lot in Brooklyn today."

It says "The killing was the third of a series which began Sunday with the slaying of Frankie Yale," described as a racketeer "and confederate of “Scarface Al” Capone," and that police "could not connect today’s murder with the death of Yale."

The page mentions the Yale killing only in passing. This archive files it with the 2 July 1928 item from the same paper as a record of how the killing was reported, not as a source on who was responsible.
