An Associated Press report says raids after a Saturday street fight, in which two policemen and Mike Genna were killed, brought nearly 400 gangsters and suspicious characters into custody.

Page 23 of the Evening Star, Washington, Monday, 15 June 1925. The Associated Press story, datelined Chicago, June 15, describes the campaign "begun after the triple fatal clash of police and gunmen on Saturday, when two policemen and Mike Genna, gangster, were killed, a third policeman perhaps fatally wounded and two Genna followers slightly injured."

It says the raids had brought nearly 400 gangsters and suspicious characters into custody, that State's Attorney Robert E. Crowe was preparing to seek indictments against John Scalise and Albert Anselmi, Genna's companions, and that a judge told police to shoot gunmen on sight. The OCR spells the second name "Anselino"; "Anselmi" is used here as a normalization of the name other papers print. The OCR garbles a word or figure after "Net" in the headline, so it is given without it.

The page is filed as the next-business-day wire report of the 13 June fight. Its account of who was to be charged is the prosecutor's, before any indictment.
