Page 4 of the New York Tribune, 22 August 1921: a follow-up on the August arrests, reporting that a man leaving for Italy had been threatened by members of the "Camorra band headed by Lombardi and Magaddino, now awaiting trial."

Page 4 of the New York Tribune, Monday, August 22, 1921. The story in the first column is headed "Guards Hired By Rich Italians Fearing Murder," with decks "Suspected Whisky Ring Members Leaving America Protect Themselves Against Camorra Plots" and "Price on Fiaschetti's Head."

It reports that a former Mulberry Street merchant who sailed for Italy on Saturday was escorted to the pier by private detectives, and that, "it is alleged, he has been threatened with revelations by members of the Camorra band headed by Lombardi and Magaddino, now awaiting trial for many murders said to have been ordered from Palermo." It also reports a price said to have been placed on the head of Acting Captain Fiaschetti, who led the Italian Squad's inquiry, and police statements about the informant Fontano.

The page is unnamed-source and police-source reporting of 1921. "Now awaiting trial" is the paper's description four days after the arrests; this archive has opened no record of a trial or of the charges' outcome. It is filed with the [front page of August 17](/clippings/clip-new-york-tribune-1921-08-17-p1/) as the paper's account, not as evidence of what any person did.
