An International News Service dispatch from New York on the search for the men who were in room 349 of the Park Central Hotel when Arnold Rothstein was shot, and on the arrangements for his burial.

Page 28 of The Washington Times, Wednesday, 7 November 1928, carries in its third column a story headed "POLICE SEEK 2 IN ROTHSTEIN SLAYING," credited "By International News Service" under a NEW YORK, Nov. 7, dateline. The Library of Congress OCR garbles the headline; it was read from the page image.

The dispatch says police "redoubled their efforts to locate the men who were in room 349 of the Park Central Hotel Sunday night when Rothstein was shot through the abdomen." It names two men police were seeking: an ex-convict, about whom police had been told a story of a large poker loss, and George McManus, "a bookmaker," because an overcoat "bearing the label, "McManus,"" was found in the hotel room. Under "Burial Today," it says the body was removed after his death at Polyclinic Hospital and that he would be buried in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn.

The page reports whom police wanted to question, not who was charged or convicted. This archive takes from it the hotel and the room number as printed; the page gives no street address for the hotel.
