A per curiam opinion reversing the denial of Marshall Caifano's § 2255 petition for credit for time served. It records his ten-year California sentence from October 12, 1966 and his June 27, 1967 guilty plea in Chicago to a seven-count federal indictment.

United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, December 19, 1972, per curiam. The caption reads "Marshall Caifano, a/k/a John Marshall."

The court states that on October 12, 1966 Caifano began serving a ten-year sentence imposed by a federal district court in California, and that on June 27, 1967, in the Northern District of Illinois, he pleaded guilty to all counts of a seven-count indictment under 18 U.S.C. §§ 1343, 2314 and 371, receiving a twelve-year sentence concurrent with the California term. After an earlier appeal, the district court resentenced him to "two years on each of five counts (dismissing two counts), the sentences to run concurrently with each other but consecutively to the ten year California sentence." The Seventh Circuit reversed the denial of his petition for credit for time served.

The opinion is about sentence credit. It says nothing about any organization.
