Second Circuit opinion of July 8, 1969 affirming the convictions of Antonio Corallo and others for a conspiracy to arrange a kickback on the Jerome Park Reservoir cleaning contract awarded by New York City's Water Commissioner.

United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, dockets 32686 to 32689, decided July 8, 1969. The appellants, Antonio Corallo, Henry Fried, Daniel J. Motto and S. T. Grand, Inc., appealed from "judgments convicting them of conspiracy to use the telephone as an interstate facility with intent to violate the New York State bribery laws."

The court summarizes the charge: James Marcus, "as Water Commissioner of the City of New York, had the sole discretionary power to award, without public bidding, on a cost-plus basis," a contract for "the cleaning of the Jerome Park Reservoir in the Bronx," and the appellants conspired with him "to arrange a kickback" if he awarded it to Fried's company. The court affirmed.

The opinion is a bribery case. It does not describe Corallo's place in any family; for that, see the [Commission case appeal](/items/us-v-salerno-868-f2d-524/).
