Bureau of Investigation wanted notice for Charles Arthur Floyd, aliases Frank Mitchell and "Pretty Boy Smith," issued five days after the Kansas City Union Station shooting. Fingerprints, photographs, description and criminal record. A copy is stored here.

The heading reads "Identification Order No. 1194, June 22, 1933," issued by the United States Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, Washington, D.C. It names "Charles Arthur Floyd, aliases Frank Mitchell, 'Pretty Boy Smith'" and prints ten fingerprints with the fingerprint classification, a profile and front photograph, a signature, a physical description and a criminal record that begins with a St. Louis arrest of September 16, 1925 for highway robbery.

The paragraph at the foot states that Floyd "is wanted in connection with the murder of Otto Reed, Chief of Police of McAlester, Oklahoma, William J. Grooms and Frank E. Hermanson, police officers of Kansas City, Missouri, Raymond J. Caffrey, Special Agent of the United States Bureau of Investigation, and their prisoner, Frank Nash, at Kansas City, Missouri, on June 17, 1933." That is the Bureau's statement of what it wanted him for on the date of issue. It is an allegation, not a finding of any court.

Only the front of the order is stored here; the FBI's image shows no back. The FBI's own account of the shooting is filed as its [history page](/items/fbi-history-kansas-city-massacre/).
