Kansas City office report in the FBI Vault's Bonnie and Clyde file: the gang's camp in woods near Dexter, Iowa, the attack "shortly after daybreak on Monday July 24, 1933," "Marvin Barrow died from his wound," and Blanche Barrow's account of the Joplin shooting. A copy of report page 9 is stored here.

Part 02 of the Vault's Bonnie and Clyde file holds Bureau letters and reports of July to October 1933 headed "Clyde Champion Barrow, with aliases, et al; National Motor Vehicle Theft Act." Viewer pages 51 to 76 are a Kansas City office report. Its cover page is not legible in the viewer's text layer, so the report's own date is not given here; page 12 speaks of an arraignment set for August 5, 1933 as still to come. Report pages 9, 10 and 12 (viewer pages 59, 60 and 62) were read from the page images.

Page 9 opens: "As will be observed later on in this report, Marvin Barrow died from his wound." It records an interview with Ed Penn near Dexter, who found where a party had camped and left a fire burning, with "bloody clothes" and "bloody bandages," in "the Johnson and Hicks woods a short distance north of his property" on Sunday afternoon, July 23, 1933, and the town marshal's report that Clyde Barrow had bought shoes at his store on July 21. Page 10 states that "A party of about 15 officers formed in a 'V' shape approached the Subjects' camp," that "The attack was made shortly after daybreak on Monday July 24, 1933," that officers "finally overtook Marvin Barrow and his wife after the former was wounded," and that Clyde Barrow, Bonnie Parker and a third man escaped on foot and took a farmer's car.

Page 12 summarizes Blanche Barrow's account of the April 13, 1933 shooting at Joplin, Missouri, "when two officers were killed": "that Bonnie Parker was upstairs in the front of the house; that she and Marvin were upstairs in the back of the house," and that the men were downstairs. That is her statement as the agent recorded it. The FBI's history page dates the Iowa shootout July 29, 1933; this report, written within days, dates the raid July 24. The report does not give the date of Marvin Barrow's death.
