Summaries for August 1960 place Humphreys at Celano's in downtown Chicago with Frank Ferraro, whom the FBI calls a 'Chicago top hoodlum', and Ross Prio, 'a former Chicago top hoodlum', and record his August 8 remarks about meeting a 'west side hoodlum and gambler.'

Surveillance summaries of August 1960 (Chicago file 92-348). They place Humphreys at "Celano's" in downtown Chicago with Frank Ferraro, whom the FBI calls a "Chicago top hoodlum," and Ross Prio, called "a former Chicago top hoodlum" (p. 160). The pages also name Edward Vogel as a Chicago "top hoodlum," and carry transcript-style lines of conversation credited to Humphreys. On August 8, 1960 Humphreys returned to Celano's at about 2:30 p.m., told an employee he was to meet a "west side hoodlum and gambler," and made a telephone call about a case set for trial.

The title line of a report on page 241 reads "MURRAY LLEWELYN HUMPHREYS, 'The Camel'" and lists other names he used. About 80 of the part's roughly 248 pages are readable. The conversation lines are FBI-transcribed surveillance text and are not quoted at length. "Top hoodlum" is the Bureau's label. Page 241 prints his residential addresses, which are not stored or repeated. This archive read the page through the Vault viewer's OCR text layer. The scans are poor; names, dates and figures can be garbled, and many names are redacted under FOIA exemptions (b6, b7C, b7D).
