FBI agents interviewed Illinois Governor Dwight Green about an anonymous allegation concerning the paroles, and others; on October 11 Jack Sussman told agents he was responsible for $50,000 of the bond money, half of it, he said, given him by Paul Ricca.

More of the Chicago office's 1947 parole investigation (file 58-194). On October 9, 1947 agents interviewed Illinois Governor Dwight Green at the Union League Club about an anonymous allegation that he had instructed Harry Ash of the state Crime Prevention Commission, at a meeting at Louis Campagna's home at Berrien Springs, to act as a parole adviser. The page records his reply: "there was no truth in the allegation and that it was 'utterly ridiculous'," and that he could not speak for Ash.

Other interviews include the president of the Chicago Bar Association, who said he knew only Paul DeLucia (Ricca), through an elevator-accident insurance suit, and a ward committeeman. On October 11 Jack Sussman told agents he was responsible for $50,000 put up for the subjects' bonds, of which he raised $25,000 and $25,000 "was given him by PAUL RICCA" (OCR).

The allegation put to the governor was anonymous; he denied it, and the pages read record no finding on it. This archive read the page through the Vault viewer's OCR text layer. The scans are poor; names, dates and figures can be garbled, and many names are redacted under FOIA exemptions (b6, b7C, b7D).
