An FBI Las Vegas airtel of January 27, 1975 stating that Frank Rosenthal was made Executive Consultant to the Chairman of the Board of the Argent Corporation on October 22, 1974 and oversaw the casino operations of the Hacienda, Stardust and Fremont hotels.

Scan 11 of the FBI Vault's "Frank Rosenthal" file, Part 01, is an FBI airtel dated 1/27/75 from the Special Agent in Charge, Las Vegas, to the Director, with the subject "Frank Rosenthal, aka; RICO; OO: Las Vegas." Some lines are redacted. The text was read from the page image stored here.

It states: "Captioned subject was made Executive Consultant to the Chairman of the Board of the Argent Corporation on 10/22/74." It says that in that position he "oversees the casino operations of the Hacienda Hotel, Stardust Hotel, Fremont Hotel, and will assume those responsibilities at the Airport Marina, a new hotel casino which will open on the Las Vegas 'Strip' some time this year." The airtel adds that, as a result, he "has caused a large number of employees to be fired at the Stardust and Hacienda Hotels," and that "informant information" reflects that he was replacing individuals with people loyal to him. The informant statements are the Bureau's record of what a source said, not findings.

Scan 31 of the same part is the cover page of a Las Vegas report dated 6/6/75, character "Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations," titled "Frank Larry Rosenthal," with field office file 183-40 and Bureau file 183-250. Its synopsis repeats that he was made executive consultant to the Argent Corporation on 10/22/74 and oversees the casino and hotel operations of the Hacienda, Stardust and Fremont, and the casino operations leased by Argent at the new Marina Hotel-Casino. The page carries the printed caution that it "contains neither recommendations nor conclusions of the FBI." The report was copied to the chief attorney of the Strike Force in Los Angeles.

This record does not state that any offense occurred. The Eighth Circuit's later account of the Argent case is on the page for [United States v. Cerone](/items/courtlistener-us-v-cerone-830-f2d-938/).
