Guzik refused to answer every question on grounds of incrimination. Counsel put to him a 1949 partnership return titled 'Guzik and Accardo' reporting a $278,667 share from the Erie-Buffalo Co.; the figures are counsel's.

Jacob Guzik was brought before the committee by Senator O'Conor and counsel George Robinson (Part 12, pp. 384-394). He said he would refuse to answer any question on the ground that it might incriminate him, and he stood on that to every question.

Counsel put to him (p. 389) that a partnership return titled "Guzik and Accardo" reported a share of $278,667 from the Erie-Buffalo Co., a policy-business concern, in 1949; that he had received about $20,000 in wagering commissions in 1941; and that he reported income of $51,000 in 1947 and $100,000 in 1948 from miscellaneous sources. He declined to answer each question, including whether he knew Anthony Accardo.

The partnership and the figures come from counsel's questions, not from Guzik. The date is the nearest session heading in the OCR, Thursday, March 22, 1951; the pages themselves carry no date, so this page gives the month. Home addresses in counsel's questions are not repeated. The Senate's contempt report on his refusals is filed separately. Quotations follow the Internet Archive's OCR of the printed volume. Page numbers are the printed running heads and can be off by one near a page break.
