# Kefauver Part 5, Exhibit 62: chart of the policy wheels in Chicago, 1945-1950

A circular committee chart of Chicago policy wheels, with "Policy Wheel $150,000,000 Five Year Play" at its centre and the names of wheels and operators around it, offered by associate counsel H. G. Robinson on December 19, 1950.

Exhibit No. 62 is printed at page 1409 of Part 5. On December 19, 1950, associate counsel H. G. Robinson offered "this chart of the policy wheel, 1945 to 1950, Chicago, Ill.; which is a chart made up from the information which is in the files of the committee" (printed page 1176). Asked about the figure in the middle, he said: "That is the estimated play over a period of 5 years of all the policy wheels which have been in operation during that time."

The chart is a wheel with "Policy Wheel, $150,000,000, Five Year Play" at its centre. Two rings around it carry handwritten names of policy wheels and of the men the staff associated with each. The handwriting is small and parts are not legible in the scan; this archive does not transcribe the names.

This is a hearing exhibit. The names, ranks and relationships printed on it are the labels of a 1950 committee staff chart, and the $150,000,000 figure is counsel's estimate. They are not findings of the committee or of a court, and this archive does not copy any of them onto a family page or a person page.
