Ralph J. Capone testified that he was born in Naples, was convicted of income-tax evasion in 1931 and served three years, and sold beer to taverns from about 1923, buying through 'a man by the name of Guzik.'

Ralph J. Capone, 56, of Chicago and Mercer, Wisconsin, testified in December 1950 (Part 5, pp. 1226-1250). The date is taken from the session heading that precedes his testimony in the OCR, Wednesday, December 20, 1950.

He said he was born in Naples, Italy, and was brought to the United States as an infant; that he was convicted of income-tax evasion in 1931 and served a three-year sentence; and that he had earlier liquor fines. He said that from about 1923, for six or seven years, he sold beer to taverns, not in business with his brother Al, and that he bought it (pp. 1228-1229) through "a man by the name of Guzik," whom counsel identified as Jack Guzik. He said he later managed the Rex Hotel in Mercer.
