Rosselli testified that he was born in Chicago on June 4, 1905, was sentenced on December 31, 1943 in the movie extortion case and released on August 13, 1947, and that he met Al Capone during a Chicago visit for the Dempsey-Tunney fight.

John Rosselli, of Hollywood, testified at the committee's Chicago session of 7 October 1950 (Part 5, pp. 372-406). The transcript's preamble places the session in room 267 of the United States Courthouse, Old Post Office Building.

He said (pp. 373-375) that he was born in Chicago on June 4, 1905: "I was born in Chicago in 1905, June 4, 1905." He said he was sentenced on December 31, 1943 in the movie extortion case and released on August 13, 1947. He said (pp. 376-377) that he first met Al Capone through Jo Esposito during a Chicago visit for the Dempsey-Tunney fight, that he had been to the Hotel Lexington once or a couple of times, and that he knew Charlie Fischetti.

The birth date is the witness's sworn statement. Later FBI reports in his Vault file say he was born in Italy under another name; see the [1968-69 convictions](/items/fbi-vault-roselli-p08-convictions-1968-1969/) page. The transcript prints the name "Rosselli." The end page, 406, is taken from the start of the next witness. Quotations follow the Internet Archive's OCR of the printed volume. Page numbers are the printed running heads and can be off by one near a page break.
