A committee wire chart printed sideways, from Continental Press through Empire Service Co. of Cleveland to distributors including Periodical Distributors of Newport, Ky., with Morse circuits, miles and drops, received on January 17, 1951.

Exhibit No. 37 is printed sideways at page 456 of Part 6. On January 17, 1951, associate counsel Joseph L. Nellis walked the committee through the chart, saying Periodical Distributors of Newport, Ky., "services the area of Cincinnati and Newport, Ky., with 7 Morse circuits, 22 miles, 27 drops." The chairman said: "Let this chart be made a part of the record and you can refer to it" (printed page 72). The contents describe it as a "Wire chart showing the services of Continental Press to an Ohio distributor."

The chart is headed "Wire Service." A box for Continental Press leads to the Empire Service Co. of Cleveland and from there to distributors that include Periodical Distributors of Newport, Ky., and Crowley Publishing, each with its Morse circuits, miles and drops and a list of towns in Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

This is a hearing exhibit. The names, ranks and relationships printed on it are the labels of a chart used by committee counsel; the companies and persons on it are its labels, and that a business appears on it is the chart's claim. They are not findings of the committee or of a court, and this archive does not copy any of them onto a family page or a person page.
