A photograph of the inside of the Jungle Inn showing the gun turret from within the building, identified by Anthony A. Rutkowski on January 18, 1951.

Exhibit No. 58 is printed at page 461 of Part 6, captioned "Jungle Inn Interior, Showing Gun Turret." On January 18, 1951, associate counsel Joseph L. Nellis asked that photographs of the Jungle Inn be "put in the record under Mr. Rutkowski's name as exhibits." Anthony A. Rutkowski was chief of the enforcement division of the Ohio Department of Liquor Control (printed pages 210 to 212). The contents describe it as a "Photograph showing gun turret as it looked from the inside of the Jungle Inn." The chairman remarked of it: "There seems to be guns sticking out of there where everyone can see them" (printed page 212).

The photograph shows an interior wall with a raised enclosure. Rutkowski's account of the raid, in which he says the turret was pointed out to him, is in the testimony on printed page 213 and is not retold here.

This is a hearing exhibit. Its caption is the printed record's description of the picture, not a finding of the committee or of a court, and nothing on it is copied to a family page or a person page.
