Canonical: https://mobfiles.org/items/kefauver-part-10-nevada-california-1950/

Printed hearings of the Senate Special Committee to Investigate Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce, Part 10, Nevada-California: sessions in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, November 1950 to March 1951.

The title page reads "Investigation of Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce. Hearings before a Special Committee to Investigate Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce, United States Senate", and this volume is Part 10, headed "Nevada-California". The dates printed on the title page are November 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 27, and December 13, 1950; February 27, 28, and March 2, 3, 1951. The volume belongs to the 81st Congress, 2d session, and 82d Congress, 1st session. It is part of the printed record of the committee created by Senate Resolution 202 (81st Congress), the Kefauver Committee, and prints sworn testimony, a contents list of witnesses with page numbers, and a schedule of exhibits. The Internet Archive scan has 1252 page images.

The session datelines place the hearings in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington. The session lines print these rooms and buildings:

- Las Vegas, Nev. (the session line reads only "in Las Vegas, Nev.")
- Federal Building and United States courthouse, Los Angeles
- Grand jury room of the Federal courthouse and post office, San Francisco
- Room 338, Post Office Building, San Francisco
- Room 457, Senate Office Building

The contents page lists, among the witnesses, Clark, Wilbur Ivern; Sedway, Moe; Dalitz, Morris; Jones, Clifford; Greeson, L. R.; Cohen, Michael (Mickey); Samish, Arthur H.; Kessel, David N.; Pechart, Walter; Bompensiero, Frank; Parker, William H.; Bowron, Hon. Fletcher; Brown, Edmund G.; Matranga, Mrs. Maria; Tucker, Samuel; Smiley, Allen; Utley, James; Ruditsky, Barney. The names follow the contents page; spelling was corrected only where the OCR was plainly wrong. A list of witnesses is not a list of findings: the volume prints questions and answers, and this archive does not summarize them.

This is the Las Vegas volume. The November 15, 1950 Las Vegas session is headed "confidential" and "executive session", and the session line reads only "in Las Vegas, Nev."; the printed record does not name the building. The courtroom of the Las Vegas post office and courthouse is named by a National Register of Historic Places amendment, which is described on the separate record for that building. The contents OCR reads "Sedway, Moe, vice president Hamingo Hotel" (Flamingo) and "Brown, Edmimd G." (Edmund).

The archive.org copy is a Boston Public Library scan of the Government Printing Office print, and the Internet Archive marks it not in copyright. The room lines and datelines above were read from the archive's OCR text of the scan.
