Canonical: https://mobfiles.org/items/kefauver-part-2-federal-agencies-1950/

Printed hearings of the Senate Special Committee to Investigate Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce, Part 2, Federal agencies and other witnesses: sessions in Washington, June to August 1950.

The title page reads "Investigation of Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce. Hearings before a Special Committee to Investigate Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce, United States Senate", and this volume is Part 2, headed "Federal Communications Commission, United States Post Office, Bureau of Prisons, United States Treasury, and other witnesses". The dates printed on the title page are June 22, 23, 28; July 6, 7; August 16, 1950. The volume belongs to the 81st Congress, 2d session. It is part of the printed record of the committee created by Senate Resolution 202 (81st Congress), the Kefauver Committee, and prints sworn testimony, a contents list of witnesses with page numbers, and a schedule of exhibits. The Internet Archive scan has 286 page images.

The session datelines place the hearings in Washington. The session lines print these rooms and buildings:

- Room 457 and room 224, Senate Office Building
- Room G-16, the Capitol

The contents page lists, among the witnesses, Anslinger, Harry; Peterson, Virgil W.; Coy, Wayne; Foley, Hon. E. H.; Bennett, James V.; Baughman, U. E.; Bolich, Daniel A.; Garner, Clifton C.; Maloney, James J.; Olney, Warren; Strubinger, David E.; Woolf, W. H.; Youngdahl, Hon. Luther W.; Avis, Dwight E.. The names follow the contents page; spelling was corrected only where the OCR was plainly wrong. A list of witnesses is not a list of findings: the volume prints questions and answers, and this archive does not summarize them.

The title page names the agencies and some of the witnesses: the Federal Communications Commission, the United States Post Office, the Bureau of Prisons, the United States Treasury, Gov. Luther Youngdahl of Minnesota, Virgil W. Peterson of the Chicago Crime Commission, and Warren Olney of the California Special Crime Study Commission.

The archive.org copy is a Boston Public Library scan of the Government Printing Office print, and the Internet Archive marks it not in copyright. The room lines and datelines above were read from the archive's OCR text of the scan.
