Thomas J. McGinty told the committee he had served six months for conspiracy under the National Prohibition Act, had been a partner in the Mounds Club, and was a partner in the Desert Inn at Las Vegas with Wilbur Clark, Moe Dalitz, Morris Kleinman and Sam Tucker.

Printed pages 181 to 208 of Part 6. Thomas J. McGinty appeared with counsel. Asked whether he had ever been arrested, he said "Yes; I was," in connection with "Prohibition," and that he served "Six months"; counsel asked, "That was in connection with a conspiracy to violate the National Prohibition Act?" and he answered, "That's right."

He said he was a partner in the Mounds Club, opened "about 16 years ago," and that he held a small interest in the Beverly Hills Country Club. Asked, "Are you a partner in the Desert Inn at Las Vegas, Nev.?" he answered, "Yes, sir," and to "Who with?" replied: "Wilbur Clark, Mr. Dalitz, Mr. Kleinman, Mr. Tucker." He said Wilbur Clark had come to Cleveland and shown him how much he had already invested. On advice of counsel he declined to answer questions about gambling at the Mounds Club.

This is McGinty's own testimony. The committee's Las Vegas hearings, in which the Desert Inn's owners were questioned in Nevada, are in [Part 10](/items/kefauver-part-10-nevada-california-1950/).
