Underwood & Underwood photograph of the December 1920 funeral procession of "Monk" Eastman: soldiers carrying the coffin behind a horse-drawn hearse. The Library notes heavy retouching. A copy is stored here.

The Library of Congress titles this print "[Funeral procession of 'Monk' Eastman]" and dates it December 1920. The brackets mark a title devised by Library staff. It is an Underwood & Underwood photograph in the New York World-Telegram and the Sun collection.

The image shows soldiers carrying a coffin behind a horse-drawn hearse on a street lined with onlookers. The Library notes that the photograph is heavily retouched, so detail in the crowd should not be treated as a record of who attended.
