The Library of Congress carries the photographer's log-book title "McClellan Committee investigating Teamsters Union, Sen. Investigating Sub Comm." and dates the frame 26 February 1957. That is the date of the first hearing in the Select Committee's printed series, which the Internet Archive catalog gives as running from 26 February 1957 to 9 September 1959.

The Library's record does not describe the scene. The description here comes from the image: spectators and press fill the floor before a long committee table. No witness is identified, and this page does not tie the frame to a particular printed volume.
