The digitized transcript of the taking of the jury's verdict in United States v. Howard T. Winter et al. The page shown records the foreman's answers on count one for six defendants and the first answer on count two, "Guilty" for Howard Winter.

A digitized transcript of 31 images. The cover (stored [here](/media/nara-192810459-winter-trial-verdict-1979-07-11-cover.jpg)) reads "Cr. No. 79-00042," "Mazzone, D. J. and a Jury," "United States of America v. Howard T. Winter, et ali," "Verdict," "Courtroom No. 3, Federal Building, Boston, Massachusetts, 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 1979." A receipt stamp of the clerk's office reads "JUL 15" with the year only partly legible.

Transcript page 45-4, shown above, was read in full. On count one the clerk asks how the jury finds Melvin Goldenberg, Elliot Paul Price, Sidney Tildsley, Charles Demetri and James Demetri, and the foreman answers "Guilty" for each. For Norman Mercier the foreman answers "Not guilty." The clerk then asks: "On count two, how do you find the defendant, Howard Winter?" The foreman answers "Guilty." The page ends as the clerk begins to ask about James Martorano on count two.

The verdicts on the remaining counts and defendants are on the later pages, which have not been read for this archive. The page shown does not say what count one or count two charged. The First Circuit's opinions describe the convictions it affirmed and the two it reversed.
