Division of Investigation wanted notice for Arthur Flegenheimer, with aliases including "Dutch" Schultz, indicted in the Southern District of New York on 25 January 1933 for violating the federal income tax law. A copy is stored here.

The National Archives titles this item "Arthur Flegenheimer Wanted Poster." It is Identification Order No. 1234 of the Division of Investigation, dated November 19, 1934, headed "Federal Income Tax Law Violation." It names Arthur Flegenheimer "with aliases" including Arthur Schultz, George Schultz, "Dutch" Schultz, "Artie" and "The Dutchman," and prints ten fingerprints, a front and profile photograph "taken July 1, 1931," a description and a criminal record of New York arrests from 1919 to 1931. A note says entries marked with an asterisk are "notations unsupported by fingerprints."

The statement at the foot reads: "Arthur Flegenheimer was indicted in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York on January 25, 1933, for violation of the Federal Income Tax Law." That is the charge as of the order's date; the order does not record a conviction.

Flegenheimer belongs to the New York organized-crime records rather than to the Bureau's bank-robbery and kidnaping cases. The order is filed in this section because it is one of only two Identification Orders this archive's search of the National Archives catalog found; the other is [Dillinger's](/items/nara-175539853-dillinger-identification-order-1217/). The order lists relatives with a Bronx address; that address is not repeated or mapped here.
