Canonical: https://mobfiles.org/items/nara-298446-drawing-of-a-still/

A dimensioned drawing of a still from a Prohibition-era Treasury case file at the National Archives at Seattle: a rectangular tank, a twelve-inch column and a condenser of copper tubing. The catalog calls the case typical of alcohol-manufacture investigations.

The National Archives catalog title is "Drawing of a still." Its description reads: "This document is from a case typical of the type of case investigated concerning the manufacture of alcohol during prohibition." The drawing is dimensioned: a rectangular tank of 51 by 26 by 36 inches, a twelve-inch column 48 inches tall, a condenser of 3/8-inch copper tubing, galvanized pipe, trap screws and angle iron. "375" is written in pencil at the top.

The catalog gives no date for the item; the series runs from 1924 to 1933, which is the span given on this page. The file unit is titled after the subjects of the investigation; their names are not repeated here, because this drawing records equipment, not the outcome of a case, and the file's result has not been read.
