Volume 1 (pages 1-242) of the sixteen-volume transcript of the Cleveland jury trial of Gallo, the Graewes, Lonardo and McTaggart before Judge John M. Manos, which began on 5 November 1982.

The cover, shown above, reads "In the District Court of the United States, Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division," "Criminal Action No. CR82-119," "Judge John M. Manos," "Transcript of Trial Proceedings, Volume 1, Pages 1 - 242," prepared by the Federal Court Reporters, U.S. Court House, Cleveland, Ohio. The caption lists Joseph Charles Gallo, Frederick Graewe, Hartmut Graewe, Angelo A. Lonardo and Kevin Joseph McTaggart as defendants; Sinito, named in the indictment, is not on this caption. Handwritten numbers on the cover (83-3288, 83-3289-92, 83-3339, 83-3803/3804) match the Sixth Circuit appeal numbers, and the cover carries filing stamps of 1983.

The National Archives lists the sixteen volumes as separate items with their own NAIDs: Volume 1 is 315949012 and begins November 5, 1982; Volume 16 is 315949030 and begins January 18, 1983. A Justice Department report of April 18, 1983 describes the trial as lasting twelve weeks.
