A Ford White House counsel's folder on the Hoffa disappearance. It holds a November 1975 Senate resolution to create a select committee that would study, among other matters, "the disappearance of James R. Hoffa," and a Labor Department letter of 2 December 1975.

This is a folder from Box 9 of the Philip Buchen Files at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library. Buchen was counsel to President Ford. The National Archives catalog serves the folder as a PDF, and this archive read the text of two documents in it.

The first is S. Res. 302 of the 94th Congress, submitted by Senator Griffin on 18 November 1975. It would create a select committee to study, among other matters, "the disappearance of James R. Hoffa," together with loans from Teamsters pension and welfare funds. The second is a Department of Labor letter of 2 December 1975 to Senators Harrison A. Williams, Jr. and Jacob K. Javits. It describes Justice and Labor Department activity concerning the Central States funds and the disappearance. The signatory of the letter is not legible in the text this archive read, and is not named here.

The catalog does not state a date range for the whole folder; 1975 is the date of the two documents read. The catalog also warns that some material may have been removed from the folder.
