# U.S. Rifle Model 1925 Monitor Browning Automatic .30 (Springfield Armory NHS, SPAR 7213)

Canonical: https://mobfiles.org/items/nps-spar-7213-colt-monitor/

NPS museum catalog record for a Colt "Monitor" (R80), which the catalog calls a "Commercial variant of the M1918 (R80) intended for police use and prison guard use. Introduced in 1933, it was made only for a few years." Text-only record.

The catalog dates manufacture to about 1935 and describes the receiver as marked "COLT AUTOMATIC MACHINE RIFLE/MODEL 1925 CAL..30." The serial given in the descriptor is C102798; the marking transcription reads C-102793. The record states both and does not reconcile them, and neither is relied on here.

The record belongs with the Browning rifles of the Barrow reports: it shows a commercial police variant of the same design, which the catalog says was introduced in 1933.
