The U.S. Attorney announces a superseding indictment of nineteen Bonanno members and associates, including "Bonanno family acting underboss Nicholas Santora and Bonanno family acting consigliere Anthony Rabito." Both men had been defendants in the 1982 Brasco trial.

The Eastern District of New York's archived release of February 6, 2007, issued by U.S. Attorney Roslynn R. Mauskopf with the Queens County District Attorney, the FBI and the New York police. "A superseding indictment was unsealed this morning in federal court in Brooklyn charging nineteen members and associates of the Bonanno organized crime family of La Costa Nostra" (the release's spelling), "including two members of the Bonanno family's administration – Bonanno family acting underboss Nicholas Santora and Bonanno family acting consigliere Anthony Rabito." The case was assigned to Judge Sandra A. Townes. Santora and Rabito were both defendants in [United States v. Napolitano](/items/courtlistener-us-v-napolitano-552-f-supp-465/) in 1982.

The release places the case in a longer run: "Since March 2002, three Bonanno family bosses or acting bosses have been convicted in this district on racketeering and racketeering-related charges, which include murder or murder conspiracy as a racketeering act – Joseph Massino, Anthony Urso, and Vincent Basciano." It says a fourth acting boss was awaiting trial, and that "approximately five years ago, this investigation resulted in the first made member of the Bonanno family agreeing to testify for the government in the Bonanno family's more than seventy-year history." It does not name that member.

The release's footnote states that the charges are allegations and that the defendants are presumed innocent. This archive opened no record of how the 2007 charges against Santora and Rabito ended. The other seventeen defendants are not named here. The release prints the defendants' dates of birth, which are left out.
