# Exhibit No. 36: "Some Legitimate Businesses Owned, Infiltrated or Influenced by the Mafia" (Detroit)

Canonical: https://mobfiles.org/items/valachi-exhibit-36-detroit-businesses/

Detroit police fold-out chart linking named men to businesses, entered on October 11, 1963. One segment is stored here. No address on it is mapped.

Exhibit No. 36 faces printed page 472 of Part 2, at NCJRS PDF pages 520 to 525. It is a Detroit police chart that links named men to businesses. The text layer shows entries such as the Starlite Motel, Torosian Oil Co., Hazel Park, and Matranga Bros., San Diego.

The image stored here is the second segment, PDF page 521, which carries the exhibit number and the middle of the title. PDF page 520 holds the start of the title, "Some Legitimate Busine[sses]." Each man is shown with a photograph and CIB and DPD numbers. The chart prints business addresses as the police gave them in 1963. They are not carried onto the map without the chart open. That the chart lists a business is the police department's claim, not a finding about the business.
This archive has not viewed the page images, and no image is stored here. The chart prints business addresses as the police gave them in 1963. They are not carried onto the map without the chart open. That the chart lists a business is the police department's claim, not a finding about the business.

This is a subcommittee exhibit. The names, ranks and relationships printed on it are the labels of a 1963 police or staff chart. They are not findings of the subcommittee or of a court, and this archive does not copy any of them onto a family page or a person page.
