# Table: "Summary of arrests in families named by Joseph Valachi—Crime category"

Canonical: https://mobfiles.org/items/valachi-table-arrests-five-families/

A printed table at page 259 of Part 1 counting arrests by crime category for the men on the five New York family charts. The scan is small, and this page does not transcribe its figures.

A one-page table printed at page 259 of Part 1 (NCJRS PDF page 278), during the presentation of the New York family charts on October 8, 1963. It is headed "Summary of arrests in families named by Joseph Valachi—Crime category." It counts arrests by category: homicides, dangerous weapons, narcotics, gambling, assaults and miscellaneous. The counts are given for the men in the Genovese, Gambino, Lucchese, Profaci and Bonanno groups, with a total line and averages per man. Its note reads: "The balance of the arrests of persons mentioned in the Valachi report were made by associates of the above groups or unknowns."

The text layer scrambles the table's columns, and the stored image is small. This page does not transcribe the figures. They are arrest counts, not convictions.

This is a subcommittee exhibit. The names, ranks and relationships printed on it are the labels of a 1963 police or staff chart. They are not findings of the subcommittee or of a court, and this archive does not copy any of them onto a family page or a person page.
