# Edward P. Jones

A Kefauver Committee witness of December 1950, then living in Mexico City, who testified that he shared in the profits of the Maine-Idaho Club policy wheel in Chicago, agreed that he had been convicted of an income-tax violation on its income, and described being kidnapped in Chicago.

No birth or death date, family or role is set. The aliases are the forms the hearing uses ("Ed Jones" in Roe's testimony, "Edward Jones" in the exhibits). His brothers George and McKissick ("Mack") Jones and his mother Harriet Jones are named in the same testimony and exhibits, but no record filed here says more about them than a name and a partnership; Exhibit 60's note "Mack Jones (deceased)" is the only statement of a death. A Dallas police officer's notes, read to the committee the same evening, attribute a different ransom figure to "the Jones boys"; that is hearsay ([Butler](/items/kefauver-part-5-butler-testimony-1950-12-19/)).
