# Ellsworth "Bumpy" Johnson

Canonical: https://mobfiles.org/people/ellsworth-bumpy-johnson/

Alcatraz register no. 1117. The warden's notebook page records receipt from Leavenworth on 14 April 1954 under a 15-year narcotics sentence from the Southern District of New York, a transfer to Atlanta in December 1958 and a transfer to Lewisburg on 26 January 1963.

The series note lists the original of notebook page 1117-AZ as not extant, so the image may be a microfilm printout. Johnson's page is filed in this archive with the other [Faces](/faces/) records, and the [Harlem numbers](/harlem/) section files the records of the Harlem policy game; this person page adds the catalog data and the date conflict above. The page prints a Federal Bureau of Investigation number, which this archive does not record. The role and family fields are left empty because no record cited here states either. Offenses are given as the notebook form prints them; the "Reason for Transfer" boxes are staff opinion and are not used.
