# Jack William Tocco

Canonical: https://mobfiles.org/people/jack-tocco/

Charged in the 1996 Detroit indictment as 'Boss of the Detroit Cosa Nostra Family' since about 1979, and convicted in 1998 of two RICO conspiracy counts and a Hobbs Act conspiracy count; the Sixth Circuit affirmed the convictions and twice vacated his sentence.

The family and role lines are labelled by kind. The "Boss" title is the 1996 indictment's charge as the Sixth Circuit recites it; the jury convicted him on the conspiracy counts, and the court did not make a separate finding of rank. The FBI history page calls him "Detroit boss" in its own voice; a history essay is not used as a role. The charge is not placed on a family chart here.

This page is limited to court records and the FBI's own history page. A Jack Tocco is also named in 1951 Kefauver testimony and in 1958-1959 McClellan Committee testimony (see the [Detroit hub](/regions/detroit/)); those records are filed as items and are not used on this page. No filed record gives his birth or death.
