# Salvatore Battaglia

Convicted with Dave Evans of a Hobbs Act extortion conspiracy against the Riley Management Corporation; the Seventh Circuit affirmed in 1968 over Judge Swygert's dissent.

This page keeps the name the court used. A 1959 FBI memorandum in the Accardo Vault file names a "SAM BATTAGLIA" among men an attorney called "young turks," but no record opened for this archive says that man and the Salvatore Battaglia of this opinion are the same person, so the memorandum is not cited here.

The phrase "The Man" is the government's brief as one dissenting judge quoted it, about the extortion scheme. It is not a rank, and family and role are empty. No opened record gives his birth or death date.
