Named in Associated Press reports of 1925 and 1927: held in the inquiry into the Torrio shooting, and shot dead by a Chicago detective after his arrest on the eve of the April 1927 election.

Both events come from wire-service reports. The 1927 label "beer gang leader of the North Side" is the Associated Press's and is not used as a role. No inquest, police or court record of the shooting has been opened for this archive.
