Page 3 of the Douglas Daily Dispatch, Douglas, Arizona, for Sunday, 6 July 1930. In the center column is “Bootleg Leaders Riddled in Cafe by Rival Gunmen,” datelined Cleveland.

It reports that Joe Porrello, “latest Cleveland bootleg sugar baron,” was shot in the restaurant of Frank Milano and that his first lieutenant, named here as Sam Tilocco, fell just outside. It adds that Charles Velotta, 28, an alleged gangster and “muscle man,” had been slain a block from the Milano restaurant the previous week.

The OCR is unclear on one word of the headline; the scan reads “Cafe,” and this page follows the scan. The descriptions are the wire service’s.
