United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, decided October 8, 1965, before Schnackenberg, Castle, and Kiley, Circuit Judges; certiorari denied December 13, 1965.
The opinion states that Sam Giancana appeared under subpoena before a federal grand jury on May 14, 1965, that on June 1, 1965 the district court ordered him to answer the grand jury’s questions, and that he persisted in refusing. It quotes the district judge: “I adjudge the respondent, Sam Giancana, in direct and continuing contempt of this Court for disobedience of its lawful order, and I commit the respondent, Sam Giancana, to the custody of the United States Marshal there to remain until he obeys the lawful order of the Court.”
The court concludes: “the orders of the district court, from which these appeals were taken, are affirmed.”
