The opinion adjudges the three men in contempt of the court over the insurance-rate settlement. The sentences are as the Supreme Court describes them (317 U.S. 412, 416): two years’ imprisonment for Pendergast and O’Malley and two years’ probation for McCormack; this opinion’s own sentencing text was not read. The contempt convictions were later reversed on limitations grounds; see the 1943 opinion.
