United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, argued January 5, 1984, decided June 8, 1984, amended June 11, 1984; rehearing and rehearing en banc denied July 12, 1984.

The opinion opens: “Roy Williams, Joseph Lombardo, Thomas O’Malley, and Andrew Massa appeal from convictions on all 11 counts of an indictment charging conspiracy to bribe a United States Senator.” The scheme concerned the sale of the Wonderworld property, a Las Vegas parcel the Teamsters Central States Pension Fund had acquired in 1972; sealed bids for it were invited on January 8, 1979.

The court concludes: “the judgments of conviction and the order denying the new trial are affirmed.”
