Viewer pages 133 to 136 of Part 01 of the FBI Vault’s “Operation Donnie Brasco” file. Pages 133 to 135 are a priority teletype of May 20, 1981 (201950Z MAY 81) from New York (183A-2498) to the Director, captioned GENUS-BLACK NOVA. It refers to a call from a special agent to headquarters on May 13, 1981. Page 136 is a separate teletype about surveillance on June 2, 1981.

The teletype reads, from the page image: “Captioned investigation was initiated on May 7, 1981, upon receipt of information furnished by [redacted] who advised that Alphonse Indelicato, aka ‘Sonny Red’, Philip Giaccone, aka ‘Phily Lucky’, and Dominic Trinchera, aka ‘Big Trin’, members of the Bonanno family LCN were killed on or about May 5, 1981, by person or persons unknown associated with the Dominick Napolitano, aka ‘Sonny Black’, faction of the Bonanno LCN family. The above information had been corroborated by other informants of the NYO.”

Page 134 adds that informant information “has also revealed” that Anthony “Bruno” Indelicato, son of Alphonse, “is still hiding out and that a contract had been placed” on his life. That page is quoted from the site’s text layer, with its broken spacing corrected. Assistant U.S. Attorney Barbara Jones, Southern District of New York, advised that the facts “will support an application for Title III electronic interception.”

Page 136 records that agents would cover Benjamin Ruggiero, “aka Lefty Guns,” on a flight from LaGuardia Airport to Montreal on June 2, 1981, with two New York agents on the same flight. All of this is source information as the FBI reported it, not a finding about who did the killings.
