The last part of Part 01 of the FBI Vault’s “Operation Donnie Brasco” file is an earlier New York case, field office file 87-73051 (Bureau file 87-130700), on interstate transportation of stolen property. Its pages begin before viewer page 401; this record covers pages 401 to 531, which were not in the earlier text extraction of the part. Co-defendants’ names are redacted throughout.
The FD-302s of March 1974 describe the theft on March 13-14, 1974 of a trailer from the Lord and Taylor Company warehouse in Carlstadt, New Jersey, and agents’ surveillance of a garage and a provisions store at Graham Avenue and Ainslie Street, Brooklyn, where they observed a man the reports call “Sonny Black.” An airtel of May 14, 1974 (page 437) states that the subjects, Napolitano among them, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Brooklyn on May 2, 1974 for violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2314, pleaded not guilty and were released on personal recognizance bonds.
The report of July 13, 1976 (page 526, shown) gives the outcome. “On 4/19/76 [redacted] and Napolitano pled guilty before FDJ Bramwell, EDNY, Brooklyn, New York, to a superseding information which charged them with Conspiracy (Title 18, USC, Section 371), to violate Title 18, USC, Section 2314 (ITSP).” “On 6/18/76, Napolitano was sentenced by FDJ Bramwell, EDNY, to three years custody of the Attorney General, to run consecutive with four years Napolitano received from the State of New York on a similar matter.” The judge is Henry Bramwell.
A memorandum on page 530 notes that after his indictment on May 2, 1974 Napolitano “was fingerprinted and photographed by US Marshals.” No photograph is in the release as read. These pages predate the undercover operation and are filed as part of the same Vault release.
