Part 01 of the Vault’s file on Joseph Bonanno, 372 pages, read through the viewer’s OCR text layer. The deleted-page sheet lists 111 pages withheld.
Most of the part is 1979 material from the FBI’s Phoenix Division, Tucson Resident Agency: an investigation under RICO and an application under Title III for electronic surveillance. One serial refers to the “Tucson Resident Agency which makes application for electronic surveillance coverage of a racketeer influenced and corrupt organization” (OCR). The subjects are Bonanno and associates in Arizona.
The part concerns an Arizona investigation of the late 1970s. It is not a source for his New York position; for that, see the 1963 hearings and the 1988 civil RICO ruling.
