Viewer pages 74-76 of Part 01 (file number “MM 92-88” appears in the text of page 76) include a paragraph relaying a November 1967 communication from the Newark Office. In it a confidential source, designated “MM T-10” and otherwise redacted, recounts that Trafficante had “a large interest in the Tropicana Casino” in Havana and was considered one of the “big bosses” there. The source also described a large bolita bank in Miami as made possible through Trafficante.
The OCR also names two men as co-owners of the Tropicana. That is not repeated here because it is the informant’s account alone. The Tropicana is also named in an FBI summary of 1955 and in the House Select Committee’s report; those pages are filed separately. Everything on this page is an informant’s statement passed on by the Bureau. This record rests on the Vault viewer’s OCR text layer; the page image of viewer page 76 is now stored here. OCR names and file-number lines are partly garbled or redacted.
