The contents of Part 10 list “Randolph, Mrs. Lucille W., city clerk, Gardena, Calif. 749-750, 759-762.” She testified at the Federal Building in Los Angeles on Tuesday, 27 February 1951, in answer to a subpoena for city records. The text was read from the Internet Archive’s OCR.
Asked how long she had held the office, she said: “By appointment since 1942, August 1,” and that she had since been re-elected (printed page 749). She produced “certified copies of all ordinances and resolutions” on the licensing of the city’s card clubs, minute books and business-license registers, and a sealed file of statements kept confidential under “our ordinance No. 241,” which she said the committee could open on its direction (page 750). The chairman ordered the ordinances “filed as exhibit No. 38” (page 751).
She testified as a public official about municipal records. The names of the clubs and of private persons in the records are not repeated here.
