The Library of Congress catalogs this Bain News Service glass negative as “Funeral cortege of Petrosino.” The caption written on the negative reads “Arrival Petrosino’s remains.” The Library takes the date, 4/9/09, from the Bain caption card, where it is the date created or published later by Bain.
A two-horse hearse passes a columned stone building with a sculpture group at its corner, followed by a column of uniformed police officers, while men in hats watch from the sidewalk. The record does not identify the building or the street, and this archive does not either.
The copy stored here is the Library’s service JPEG. See also the coffin arriving at the widow’s home, from the same series of negatives.
