The Library of Congress item record states: "No known restrictions on publication." Collection: Harris & Ewing Collection, Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Division. Call number: LC-H2- B-14 [P&P]. Reproduction number: LC-DIG-hec-34011 (digital file from original negative).

The Library of Congress gives a long Harris & Ewing caption: “Report of Cook County Committee. Prominent wets from Chicago appeared at the wet and dry hearing at the U.S. Capitol today, April, 8th.” It names, left to right, front row Arthur J. Cermak, Henry Berger, Alderman J.A. Arbey and Cong. A.J. Sabath; back row Cong. S.H. Kunz, Morris Sabath, Dr. W.D. McNally, Dr. F.J. Certy and J.F. Delaney. The spellings are the caption’s.

The caption gives no year. The Library dates the item 1926 within a creation range of 1926-1929. This is a Prohibition-politics scene, a delegation testifying about the law. It is not a record of organized crime, and the people named are the caption’s, not this archive’s identifications.
