The National Archives describes this file with the same caption and defendants as the indictment file (NAID 219793790). Its catalog note says it includes the indictment, copies and originals of the threatening letters written in Italian, translations, and various other court filings, and that in the verdict filed on 29 January 1910 the jury found the defendants guilty. The note adds that the exhibits also relate to case 1333 (NAID 219793789), which was not opened.
The file has 524 digital pages, which were not read page by page. This page relies on the catalog note. The Post Office Department’s 1916 album records the sentences passed at Toledo on 29 January 1910, from two to ten years, for “conspiring, with others, to obtain $10,000 by means of black-hand letter mailed at Marion, Ohio, June 7, 1909” (album entries).
