- NPS Museum Collections web catalog record text, Springfield Armory National Historic Site, catalog number SPAR 7213. The record has no catalog photograph online. The catalog's copyright page asks that reproduction of its images be cleared with the park; no image is involved here.
The catalog dates manufacture to about 1935 and describes the receiver as marked “COLT AUTOMATIC MACHINE RIFLE/MODEL 1925 CAL..30.” The serial given in the descriptor is C102798; the marking transcription reads C-102793. The record states both and does not reconcile them, and neither is relied on here.
The record belongs with the Browning rifles of the Barrow reports: it shows a commercial police variant of the same design, which the catalog says was introduced in 1933.
