Page 2 of the Washington Daily News, 12 November 1930. A New York item headed “Tunney Is Facing Second Suit; Filed by Max Hoff,” with the deck “Action for $400,000 Starts Monday; Claims Share of Pre-Championship Earnings,” reports that Tunney had won a suit brought by Timothy J. Mara and now faced another, “brought by Max (Boo Boo) Hoff, Philadelphia promoter. Hoff claims Tunney owes him 20 per cent of his earnings for certain unspecified services rendered prior to the Dempsey-Tunney fight at Philadelphia.”

The amount in the body text is garbled in the OCR; the headline’s $400,000 is used here. The item concerns boxing business and is filed with the 1927 item on the same dispute.
